Tourists have been counted in upwards of 6 million, all visiting sometime during the busy season of summer. During this time the population drastically increases, much more so than in winter. While most citizens have a good grasp of speaking English, Spanish is still the primary/native language spoken.
A notable number of German and English citizens have been moving to Malaga, eager to call Spain home since as early as the 1970s. As Malaga typically thrives on tourism, much of the busy hub is located along the cost as opposed to concentrated pockets. Because of this, many of these nationals have chosen to settle along the coast, as opposed to the inner city.
As with most of Spain, Malaga may host a few various religions, but Catholicism is the city’s primary religion. It has been noted that there are also a great percent of practicing Protestant, Latter-day Saints, Islam, and Jewish population. Islam has also been found to be increasing in popularity with a significant increase of Muslim mosques being constructed.
